Cakkhundarīya

[400] Is the eye (cakkhu) the eye faculty (cakkhundriya)? The divine eye (dibbacakkhu) and the eye of wisdom (paññācakkhu) are eye but not the eye faculty; the eye faculty is both eye and eye faculty. Are the faculties (indriyā) the bodily-pleasure faculty (sukhindriya)? The bodily-pleasure faculty is both a faculty and the bodily-pleasure faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the bodily-pleasure faculty. Is the eye the eye faculty? The divine eye and the eye of wisdom are eye but not the eye faculty; the eye faculty is both eye and eye faculty. Are the faculties the bodily-pain faculty (dukkhindriya)? The bodily-pain faculty is both a faculty and the bodily-pain faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the bodily-pain faculty. Is the eye the eye faculty? The divine eye and the eye of wisdom are eye but not the eye faculty; the eye faculty is both eye and eye faculty. Are the faculties the joy faculty (somanassindriya)? The joy faculty is both a faculty and the joy faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the joy faculty. Is the eye the eye faculty? The divine eye and the eye of wisdom are eye but not the eye faculty; the eye faculty is both eye and eye faculty. Are the faculties the grief faculty (domanassindriya)? The grief faculty is both a faculty and the grief faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the grief faculty. Is the eye the eye faculty? The divine eye and the eye of wisdom are eye but not the eye faculty; the eye faculty is both eye and eye faculty. Are the faculties the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya)? The equanimity faculty is both a faculty and the equanimity faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties but not the equanimity faculty.
