[798] Where the nose faculty (ghānindriya) has never arisen, has the joy faculty (somanassindriya) never arisen there?
In the form sphere (rūpāvacara): there the nose faculty has never arisen, but it is not the case that the joy faculty has never arisen there. In [the plane of] non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) and in the formless [sphere] (arūpa): there both the nose faculty has never arisen and the joy faculty has never arisen.
Or rather, where the joy faculty has never arisen, has the nose faculty never arisen there?
