[123] Now at that time the group-of-six bhikkhus were enticing away the novices (sāmaṇera) of the elder bhikkhus. The elders, having to fetch tooth-wood and water for rinsing the mouth themselves, were wearied. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, another's following is not to be enticed away; whoever should entice them away commits an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
