[137] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu was traveling along a long road in the Kosalan country. Then it occurred to that bhikkhu: "It has been laid down by the Blessed One that one may not dwell without dependence (nissaya); and I am one who must take dependence, yet I am traveling along a long road. How, then, should I proceed?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow a bhikkhu traveling along a long road, who is unable to obtain dependence, to dwell without dependence."
