[173] Now at that time Devadatta recited the Pātimokkha in an assembly that included householders. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, the Pātimokkha is not to be recited in an assembly that includes householders; whoever should recite it commits an offence of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa)."
