[1141] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with painful feeling by root condition (hetu-paccaya). A root associated with painful feeling is a condition for the associated aggregates (khandha) by root condition.
