[1278] Dependent on a resultant phenomenon (vipāka dhamma), a phenomenon that is neither resultant nor productive of resultant (nevavipākanavipākadhammadhamma) arises not by immediacy condition (na anantarapaccayā) … not by contiguity condition (na samanantarapaccayā), not by mutuality condition (na aññamaññapaccayā): dependent on the primary elements (mahābhūta), there arise mind-originated materiality (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) and kamma-born materiality (kaṭattā-rūpa) which are derivative materiality (upādā-rūpa); external … nutriment-originated … temperature-originated … For non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), dependent on the primary elements, there arises kamma-born materiality which is derivative materiality. This is the difference under "not by mutuality condition" and "not by decisive-support condition" (na upanissayapaccayā).
