[1473] Conjoined with a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya), a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging arises not by way of root condition (na-hetu-paccaya): conjoined with one rootless (ahetuka) aggregate (khandha) that is clung to and subject to clinging, three aggregates arise; conjoined with two aggregates, two aggregates arise; at the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhikkhaṇa) … Conjoined with a phenomenon that is not clung to but subject to clinging (anupādinnupādāniya), a phenomenon that is not clung to but subject to clinging arises not by way of root condition: conjoined with one rootless aggregate that is not clung to but subject to clinging, three aggregates arise; conjoined with two aggregates, two aggregates arise; conjoined with the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā) [or] accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt [or] accompanied by restlessness arises.
