[1480] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is not clung to and not subject to clinging is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is not clung to and not subject to clinging. Roots (hetū) that are not clung to and not subject to clinging are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates.
