[1612] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is not clung-to but subject to clinging (anupādinnupādāniya) is a condition (paccaya) for a phenomenon that is clung-to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya) and for a phenomenon that is not clung-to but subject to clinging, by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): postnascent (pacchājāta); nutriment (āhāra).
Postnascent: aggregates (khandhā) that are not clung-to but subject to clinging are a condition, by presence condition, for this prenascent (purejāta) body that is clung-to and subject to clinging and not clung-to but subject to clinging.
Edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāro āhāro) that is not clung-to but subject to clinging is a condition, by presence condition, for the body that is clung-to and subject to clinging and not clung-to but subject to clinging.
