[1668] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is defiled and subject to defilement (saṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika) is a condition for a phenomenon that is defiled and subject to defilement by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya). Roots (hetū) that are defiled and subject to defilement are a condition for the associated aggregates (khandhā) by way of root condition.
