[1673] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition for a phenomenon that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika) by root condition (hetu-paccaya). Roots (hetu) that are undefiled and not subject to defilement are a condition for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by root condition.
