[1672] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition, by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is undefiled and not subject to defilement. Roots (hetū) that are undefiled and not subject to defilement are a condition, by way of root condition, for the associated aggregates (sampayuttakā khandhā).
