[1674] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled and not conducive to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition (paccaya) for a phenomenon that is undefiled but conducive to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika) and for a phenomenon that is undefiled and not conducive to defilement, by root condition (hetu-paccaya).
Undefiled-and-not-conducive-to-defilement roots (hetu) are a condition for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka-khandha) and for mind-originated forms (citta-samuṭṭhāna-rūpa), by root condition.
