[1688] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition, by way of predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya), both for a phenomenon that is undefiled and not subject to defilement and for a phenomenon that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika). Conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati): a predominant factor that is undefiled and not subject to defilement is a condition, by way of predominance condition, for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandha) and for the kinds of form (rūpa) originated by mind (cittasamuṭṭhāna).
