[1692] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika) is a condition, by way of immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is defiled and subject to defilement (saṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika). Adverting (āvajjanā) is a condition, by way of immediacy condition, for the aggregates (khandhā) that are defiled and subject to defilement.
