[1695] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled and not conducive to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition, by way of immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is undefiled but conducive to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika). Fruition (phala) is a condition, by way of immediacy condition, for emergence (vuṭṭhāna).
