Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (1) · Vol. 40 · Section 290

[290] Conditioned by an indeterminate phenomenon (abyākata dhamma), an indeterminate phenomenon arises by not-nutriment condition (na-āhāra-paccaya) … by not-faculty condition (na-indriya-paccaya) … by not-absorption condition (na-jhāna-paccaya): conditioned by the eye base (cakkhāyatana), eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) [arises] … conditioned by the body base (kāyāyatana), body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) [arises]. This is the difference in the not-absorption [condition]. … By not-path condition (na-magga-paccaya): conditioned by the eye base, eye-consciousness [arises] … conditioned by the body base, body-consciousness [arises]; conditioned by the base (vatthu), the aggregates (khandhā) that are rootless (ahetuka) resultant-indeterminate and functional-indeterminate [arise]. This is the difference in the not-path [condition]. The remainder should be elaborated in the same way as the negative method (paccanīya) in the dependence chapter (paṭiccavāra). By not-association condition (na-sampayutta-paccaya), by not-dissociation condition (na-vippayutta-paccaya), by not-absence condition (no-natthi-paccaya). Conditioned by a wholesome phenomenon (kusala dhamma), an indeterminate phenomenon arises by not-disappearance condition (no-vigata-paccaya): conditioned by the wholesome aggregates, mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna rūpa) [arises]. It should be elaborated as in the dependence chapter.
