[509] An indeterminate (abyākata) phenomenon (dhamma) is a condition for an indeterminate phenomenon by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya): preceding resultant-indeterminate (vipākābyākata) and functional-indeterminate (kiriyābyākata) aggregates (khandhā) are a condition for succeeding resultant-indeterminate and functional-indeterminate aggregates by immediacy condition. The life-continuum (bhavaṅga) is a condition for adverting (āvajjana); the functional, for emergence (vuṭṭhāna); the Arahant's conformity (anuloma), for the attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti); and for one emerging from cessation (nirodha), the functional [consciousness] of the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana) is a condition for the attainment of fruition by immediacy condition.
