[1972] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a present object (paccuppannārammaṇa) is a condition for a phenomenon with a present object by way of root condition (hetu-paccaya). Roots (hetū) with a present object are a condition for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates (khandhā) by way of root condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), roots with a present object are a condition for the associated aggregates by way of root condition.
