[2085] An internal phenomenon (ajjhatta-dhamma) is a condition for an internal phenomenon by contiguity condition (samanantara-paccaya). (Similar to the immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya).)
… Is a condition by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); is a condition by mutuality condition (aññamañña-paccaya); is a condition by dependence condition (nissaya-paccaya); is a condition by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), immediacy decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: In dependence on internal faith (saddhā), one gives a gift (dāna); virtue (sīla) … the Uposatha observance (uposathakamma) … jhāna … insight (vipassanā) … the path … superknowledge (abhiññā) … one produces an attainment (samāpatti); one conceives conceit (māna); one grasps a view (diṭṭhi).
In dependence on internal virtue … wisdom (paññā), lust (rāga), longing (patthanā), bodily pleasure (kāyika sukha), bodily pain (kāyika dukkha), season (utu), food (bhojana) … lodging (senāsana), one gives a gift … produces an attainment; one kills a living being; one causes schism in the Saṅgha.
Internal faith … wisdom, lust, longing, bodily pleasure, bodily pain … lodging is a condition for internal faith, for wisdom, for lust, for longing, for bodily pleasure, for bodily pain, for the path, for the attainment of fruition (phalasamāpatti), by decisive-support condition.
