[219] A phenomenon (dhammā) with thought and examination (savitakka-savicāra) and a phenomenon without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition, by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya), for a phenomenon with thought and examination and for a phenomenon without thought, with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta). At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), one aggregate (khandha) with thought and examination and the base (vatthu) are a condition for three aggregates and for thought (vitakka); two aggregates and the base are a condition for two aggregates and for thought — by connascence condition.
