[808] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) whose roots are to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena pahātabbahetuka), there arises a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned by seeing, not by way of dissociation condition (na-vippayutta-paccaya):
In the immaterial [plane] (arūpe), dependent on one aggregate (khandha) whose roots are to be abandoned by seeing, three aggregates [arise].
Dependent on a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned by seeing, there arises a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by mental development (neva dassanena na bhāvanāya pahātabbahetuka), not by way of dissociation condition:
In the immaterial [plane], dependent on the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), there arises delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt.
Dependent on a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned by seeing, there arise both a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned by seeing and a phenomenon whose roots are to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by mental development, not by way of dissociation condition:
In the immaterial [plane], dependent on one aggregate accompanied by doubt, three aggregates and delusion [arise] … two aggregates.
