[797] Dependent on (paṭicca) a phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena-pahātabba-hetuka), there arises a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by seeing, not by way of prenascence condition (na-purejāta-paccaya):
In the formless [plane] (arūpe), dependent on one aggregate (khandha) with roots to be abandoned by seeing … .
Dependent on a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by seeing, there arises a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (neva-dassanena-na-bhāvanāya-pahātabba-hetuka), not by way of prenascence condition:
In the formless [plane], dependent on the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā-sahagata), [there arises] delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt; dependent on the aggregates with roots to be abandoned by seeing, [there arises] mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa).
