[884] A phenomenon with a root to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena pahātabbahetuko dhammo) is a condition, by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon with a root to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (nevadassanena-nabhāvanāya pahātabbahetuko dhammo).
Noble ones (ariyā) review the abandoned defilements (kilesa) with roots to be abandoned by seeing; the suppressed …; formerly …; the aggregates (khandhā) with roots to be abandoned by seeing as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha), as not-self … by the knowledge that penetrates the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa). Aggregates with roots to be abandoned by seeing are a condition, by object condition, for the knowledge that penetrates the minds of others, for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of how beings fare according to their kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), for adverting (āvajjanā), and for delusion (moha).
