[897] A phenomenon (dhamma) with a root (hetu) to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena pahātabbahetuka) and a phenomenon with a root to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by cultivation (neva dassanena na bhāvanāya pahātabbahetuka) are a condition for a phenomenon with a root to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by cultivation by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya):
Taking as object the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), and delusion (moha), there arise aggregates with a root to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by cultivation, and delusion.
