[990] A phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned by development (bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) and a phenomenon whose root is to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (neva-dassanena-na-bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) — [these] phenomena (dhammā) — [are a condition] for [one whose root is to be abandoned] by development … (Abbreviated.) The three questions should be analyzed by the method of [the section on] "by seeing" (dassanena). It should be specified as "restlessness" (uddhacca). By the absence condition (natthi-paccaya), by the disappearance condition (vigata-paccaya), by the non-disappearance condition (avigata-paccaya).
