[152] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is not a root but is accompanied by roots (na-hetu sahetuka) is a condition, by repetition condition (āsevana-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is not a root but is accompanied by roots: the preceding aggregates (khandhā) that are not roots but are accompanied by roots are in each case a condition, by repetition condition, for the succeeding aggregates that are not roots but are accompanied by roots; conformity (anuloma) is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhu), conformity for cleansing (vodāna), change-of-lineage for the path (magga), and cleansing for the path, by repetition condition.
