[378] Conditioned by a phenomenon (dhamma) associated with taints (āsava-sampayutta), a phenomenon dissociated from taints (āsava-vippayutta) arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): conditioned by the aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), there arises delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
Conditioned by a phenomenon dissociated from taints, a phenomenon dissociated from taints arises, not by root condition: conditioned by one rootless (ahetuka) aggregate dissociated from taints, there arise three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); conditioned by two aggregates … rootless rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā); conditioned by the eye base (cakkhāyatana), eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); conditioned by the body base (kāyāyatana), body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa); conditioned by the base (vatthu), the rootless aggregates dissociated from taints; conditioned by the base, delusion accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
