[489] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a fetter (saññojana) and associated with fetters is a condition, by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters: object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): three.
A phenomenon that is associated with fetters but not a fetter is a condition, by predominance condition, for a phenomenon that is associated with fetters but not a fetter: object-predominance, conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati): three. In all three of these questions both object-predominance and conascence-predominance should be applied.
A phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters and a phenomenon that is associated with fetters but not a fetter are a condition, by predominance condition, for a phenomenon that is both a fetter and associated with fetters: object-predominance: three.
