[502] Dependent on a tie phenomenon (gantha-dhamma), a tie phenomenon arises, not by prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya):
In the immaterial [plane] (arūpa), dependent on the bodily tie (kāyagantha) of dogmatic insistence that "this alone is the truth" (idaṃsaccābhinivesa), the bodily tie of covetousness (abhijjhā) arises; dependent on the bodily tie of covetousness, the bodily tie of dogmatic insistence that "this alone is the truth" arises. In the immaterial [plane] adherence to rules and rituals (sīlabbataparāmāsa) does not exist; thus nine questions should be formulated.
Not by postnascence condition (pacchājāta-paccaya): nine.
Not by repetition condition (āsevana-paccaya): nine.
Not by kamma condition (kamma-paccaya): three.
Not by kamma-result condition (vipāka-paccaya): nine.
Not by nutriment condition (āhāra-paccaya): one.
