Savitakkaduka

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (4) · Vol. 43 · Section 650

[650] Conditioned by a phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by thought-conception (savitakka), a phenomenon accompanied by thought-conception arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā). Nine questions (pañhā) should be made; they are to be specified as "rootless" (ahetuka) in only three [ways], likewise; delusion (moha) should be extracted. As in the Paṭiccavāra (the "dependent" chapter), the questions are just similar to [those under] the root condition (hetu-paccaya); the five consciousnesses (pañca viññāṇā), delusion, [and] thought-conception (vitakka) are additional.
