[196] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) and clung-to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya) is a condition (paccaya), by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is a root and clung-to and subject to clinging; it is a condition by way of connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); it is a condition by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
