[36] An unwholesome (akusala) phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) is a condition, by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for an unwholesome phenomenon that is a root: three. An unwholesome phenomenon that is not a root is a condition, by object condition, for an unwholesome phenomenon that is not a root: three. An unwholesome phenomenon that is a root and an unwholesome phenomenon that is not a root are a condition, by object condition, for an unwholesome phenomenon that is a root: three.
