[425] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) and whose root is to be abandoned by development (bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) is a condition, by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is a root and whose root is to be abandoned by development: nine.
