[1269] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is not both-a-taint-and-free-of-taints (na-āsavañceva-na-anāsavañca) and is not a root (na-hetu), a phenomenon that is both a taint and subject to taints (āsavañceva-sāsavañca) and is a root (hetu) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā).
