[958] Dependent on a root (hetu) phenomenon (dhamma) that is subject to taints but not a taint (sāsavañceva-no-ca-āsava), a phenomenon that is not a not-root (na-nahetu) and is not free of taints and not a not-taint (na-anāsavañceva-na-no-ca-āsava) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā).
