[898] Dependent on a root (hetu) phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by roots (sahetuka), a not-root (na-hetu) phenomenon that is not accompanied by roots (na-sahetuka) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā). Dependent on a not-root (na-hetu) phenomenon accompanied by roots, a phenomenon that is not a not-root (na-nahetu) and is not accompanied by roots arises by root condition. Dependent on a root phenomenon accompanied by roots and a not-root phenomenon accompanied by roots, a not-root phenomenon that is not accompanied by roots arises by root condition.
