[910] Dependent on a root (hetu) phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a root and accompanied by roots (hetuñceva-sahetukañca), a not-root (na-hetu) phenomenon that is not both-a-root-and-rootless (na-hetuñceva-na-ahetukañca) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā).
