[140] Now at that time several bhikkhus were traveling along a highway in the Kosalan country. Some bhikkhus entered a charnel ground for rag-robes (paṃsukūla); some bhikkhus did not wait. Those bhikkhus who entered the charnel ground for rag-robes obtained rag-robes. Those bhikkhus who did not wait said thus: "Friends, give a share to us also." The others said thus: "Friends, we will not give you a share. Why did you not wait?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow that a share need not be given, if one is unwilling, to those who did not wait."
Now at that time several bhikkhus were traveling along a highway in the Kosalan country. Some bhikkhus entered a charnel ground for rag-robes; some bhikkhus waited. Those bhikkhus who entered the charnel ground for rag-robes obtained rag-robes. Those bhikkhus who waited said thus: "Friends, give a share to us also." The others said thus: "Friends, we will not give you a share. Why did you not enter?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow that a share is to be given, even if one is unwilling, to those who waited."
Now at that time several bhikkhus were traveling along a highway in the Kosalan country. Some bhikkhus entered the charnel ground first for rag-robes; some bhikkhus entered afterwards. Those bhikkhus who entered the charnel ground first for rag-robes obtained rag-robes. Those bhikkhus who entered afterwards did not obtain any. They said thus: "Friends, give a share to us also." The others said thus: "Friends, we will not give you a share. Why did you enter afterwards?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow that a share need not be given, if one is unwilling, to those who entered afterwards."

Some bhikkhus obtained rag-robes; some bhikkhus did not obtain any. Those bhikkhus who did not obtain any said thus: "Friends, give a share to us also." The others said thus: "Friends, we will not give you a share. Why did you not obtain any?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow that a share is to be given, even if one is unwilling, to those who entered together."
Now at that time several bhikkhus were traveling along a highway in the Kosalan country. Having made an agreement, they entered a charnel ground for rag-robes. Some bhikkhus obtained rag-robes; some bhikkhus did not obtain any. Those bhikkhus who did not obtain any said thus: "Friends, give a share to us also." The others said thus: "Friends, we will not give you a share. Why did you not obtain any?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow that a share is to be given, even if one is unwilling, to those who entered having made an agreement."
