[148] Now at that time the bhikkhus of the group of six (chabbaggiyā) wore uncut robes; they wore robes dyed the color of ivory. People criticized, complained, and spread it about. The bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, uncut robes are not to be worn. Whoever should wear one commits an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
