[189] Bhikkhus, if, in the case of a formal act to be performed by a group of five (pañcavaggakaraṇa kamma), [a group] with a bhikkhunī as the fifth should perform the act, it is no act and ought not to be done. Bhikkhus, if, in the case of a formal act to be performed by a group of five, [a group] with a female trainee (sikkhamānā) as the fifth … with a novice (sāmaṇera) as the fifth … with a female novice (sāmaṇerī) as the fifth … with one who has disavowed the training as the fifth … with one who has committed an extreme offence (antimavatthu) as the fifth … with one suspended for not seeing an offence as the fifth … with one suspended for not making amends for an offence as the fifth … with one suspended for not relinquishing a bad view as the fifth … with a paṇḍaka as the fifth … with one living in communion by theft (theyyasaṃvāsaka) as the fifth … with one who has gone over to another sect (titthiyapakkantaka) as the fifth … with an animal as the fifth … with a matricide as the fifth … with a patricide as the fifth … with a slayer of an arahant as the fifth … with a violator of a bhikkhunī as the fifth … with a schismatic as the fifth … with a shedder of [a Tathāgata's] blood as the fifth … with a hermaphrodite (ubhatobyañjanaka) as the fifth … with one belonging to a different communion (nānāsaṃvāsaka) as the fifth … with one standing within a different boundary (sīmā) as the fifth … with one standing in the air by psychic power as the fifth … should perform the act with the one against whom the Saṅgha is performing the act as the fifth, it is no act and ought not to be done.
