[191] Bhikkhus, if, in the case of a formal act (kamma) to be performed by a group of twenty, [a Saṅgha] with a bhikkhunī as the twentieth should perform the act, it is not a valid act and ought not to be done.
Bhikkhus, if, in the case of a formal act to be performed by a group of twenty, [a Saṅgha] with a sikkhamānā as the twentieth … with a sāmaṇera as the twentieth, with a sāmaṇerī as the twentieth, with one who has renounced the training as the twentieth, with one who has committed an extreme offence (antimavatthu) as the twentieth, with one suspended for not seeing an offence as the twentieth, with one suspended for not making amends for an offence as the twentieth, with one suspended for not relinquishing an evil view as the twentieth, with a paṇḍaka as the twentieth, with one living in communion by theft as the twentieth, with one who has gone over to the sectarians as the twentieth, with an animal as the twentieth, with a matricide as the twentieth, with a patricide as the twentieth, with a murderer of an arahant as the twentieth, with a violator of a bhikkhunī as the twentieth, with a schismatic as the twentieth, with a shedder of [a Tathāgata's] blood as the twentieth, with a hermaphrodite as the twentieth, with one belonging to a different communion as the twentieth, with one standing within a different boundary (sīmā) as the twentieth, [or] with the very person against whom the Saṅgha is performing the act as the twentieth should perform the act — it is not a valid act and ought not to be done.
[Variant note 1: M(yanmar) reads "dasa vaggakaraṇañce kammaṃ" — "an act to be performed by a group of ten."]
[Variant note 2: Po. M. read "iddhiyā vehāse ṭhitavīso kammaṃ kareyya" — "with one standing in the air by psychic power as the twentieth should perform the act."]
The [formal act] to be performed by a group of twenty [is concluded].
