[194] Bhikkhus, there are these two cases of sending away (nissāraṇā). Bhikkhus, there is a person who has not come to (deserve) sending away: if the Saṅgha sends him away, one such is well sent away, another is badly sent away.
And which, bhikkhus, is the person who has not come to sending away, who, if the Saṅgha sends him away, is badly sent away? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu is pure, without offense; if the Saṅgha sends him away, he is badly sent away. This, bhikkhus, is called the person who has not come to sending away, who, if the Saṅgha sends him away, is badly sent away.
And which, bhikkhus, is the person who has not come to sending away, who, if the Saṅgha sends him away, is well sent away? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu is foolish, incompetent, full of offenses, whose offenses are without limit, and he dwells in company with householders, in unbecoming association with householders; if the Saṅgha sends him away, he is well sent away. This, bhikkhus, is called the person who has not come to sending away, who, if the Saṅgha sends him away, is well sent away.
