[40] Now at that time the Venerable Pilindavaccha was afflicted with wind in the joints (pabbavāta). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow the letting of blood." The ailment did not abate. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow, having let blood, drawing it off with a horn."
