Ukakhepanīyakaṁṭhānamahenaābat

[174] At that time the Buddha, the Blessed One, was dwelling at Kosambī in Ghosita's Park (Ghositārāma). Now on that occasion the Venerable Channa, having committed an offense (āpatti), did not wish to see the offense. Those bhikkhus who were of few wishes … They took offense, criticized, and spread it about, saying: "How can the Venerable Channa, having committed an offense, not wish to see the offense?" Then those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One.
