Kammakkhandhaka

[24] Bhikkhus, an act of censure (tajjanīyakamma) possessed of three further factors is a legitimate act (dhammakamma), an act in accordance with the discipline (vinayakamma), and well settled: it is done for an offense (āpatti) that has not been confessed; it is done in accordance with the Dhamma; it is done by a united [Saṅgha]. Bhikkhus, an act of censure possessed of these three factors is a legitimate act, an act in accordance with the discipline, and well settled.
