[35] Then the Saṅgha imposed the act of censure (tajjanīyakamma) upon the bhikkhus who were followers of Paṇḍuka and Lohitaka. They, having had the act of censure imposed upon them by the Saṅgha, conducted themselves properly, became subdued, and behaved so as to merit release; and approaching the bhikkhus, they said: "Friends, we, having had the act of censure imposed upon us by the Saṅgha, are conducting ourselves properly, have become subdued, and are behaving so as to merit release. How, then, should we proceed?"
They reported this matter to the Blessed One.
"Well then, bhikkhus, let the Saṅgha revoke the act of censure imposed upon the bhikkhus who were followers of Paṇḍuka and Lohitaka."
