[362] Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu observing penance (mānatta) should not dwell under the same roof in a residence (āvāsa) together with a regular bhikkhu (pakatatta); he should not dwell under the same roof in a non-residence; he should not dwell under the same roof whether in a residence or in a non-residence. On seeing a regular bhikkhu, he should rise from his seat; he should invite the regular bhikkhu to a seat. He should not sit on the same seat with a regular bhikkhu; when [the regular bhikkhu] is seated on a low seat, he should not sit on a high seat; when [the regular bhikkhu] is seated on the ground, he should not sit on a seat. He should not walk on the same walking path [with a regular bhikkhu]; when [the regular bhikkhu] is walking on a low walking path, he should not walk on a high walking path; when [the regular bhikkhu] is walking on the ground, he should not walk on a walking path.
