[378] "And thus, bhikkhus, should it be given. Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu Udāyī should approach the Saṅgha, arrange his upper robe (uttarāsaṅga) over one shoulder, pay homage at the feet of the senior bhikkhus, sit down on his heels (ukkuṭika), raise his joined palms (añjali), and the Saṅgha should be addressed thus:
"'Venerable sirs, I committed one offense (āpatti) of intentional emission of semen (sañcetanikā sukkavisaṭṭhi), unconcealed. Venerable sirs, I request from the Saṅgha mānatta for six nights on account of that one offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed.
"'Venerable sirs, I committed one offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed. For the second time, venerable sirs, I request from the Saṅgha mānatta for six nights on account of that one offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed.
"'Venerable sirs, I committed one offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed. For the third time, venerable sirs, I request from the Saṅgha mānatta for six nights on account of that one offense of intentional emission of semen, unconcealed.'"
